REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene
Required by staff who handle open high risk food, or who handle food and have a supervisory role.
Duration - 1 day
The REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene course is designed for all food workers in the food industry. It is a 6 hour course followed by assessment and covers:
- An overview of food hygiene
- Bacteria, their effect and how to control risks
- Food poisoning and prevention
- Temperature control of food
- Food premises, equipment and utensils
- Cleaning and disinfection
- Food Law and the role of Environmental Health Officers
Assessment
- The course is assessed by a 30 minute multiple choice exam.
Qualification - Successful candidates will receive an Elementary Food Hygiene certificate from REHIS
